Tasting notes
First produced in 1954, Wynns Coonawarra Estate Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 is a reference style based on prime terra rossa vineyards. Blackberry brambly aromas with some chocolate nuances fill the nose, while fresh blackberry jam, plummy fruits with juicy elements, fine chalky dense tannins and underlying espresso (oak) notes dance on the palate. Beautifully cellared to enjoy now on a special occasion or keep up until 2028.
First produced in 1954, Wynns 'Black Label' Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 is a reference style based on prime terra rossa vineyards. Intense blackcurrant pastille fruits with some red berry notes, creamy vanilla oak complexity and hints of sage on the nose. The very fresh palate shows blackcurrant fruits, sweet vanilla/mocha oak notes, fine grainy textures and mineral length. Beautifully cellared to enjoy now on a special occasion or keep up until 2028.
First produced in 1954, Wynns Coonawarra Estate Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 is a reference style based on prime terra rossa vineyards. It is a vintage where James Halliday's Wine Companion note "the tannins are pristine and tight of grain; the acidity fresh and juicy; the oak embellishing rather than smothering; the fruit, an effortless flow of currant, leaf, mint, bitter chocolate and a punctuation of bay leaf and a herbal potpourri, staining the long finish." This is a super long-term cellaring red.
